1968 - 77 Kidsgrove/Euston/West Gorton Head of Software Engineering
After leading the team that developed Cades at Kidsgrove, I spent a
little time introducing 2900 Series to universities. In 1977, I moved to
Ottawa as director of advanced development for Bell-Northern Research
(Nortel research labs). In 1981 I started a computer graphics
workstation company and took it public in 1983.....the heady days! In 86
I moved to Scotland and started the Strathclyde Institute, a CIM centre
of excellence, in partnership with Bull, HP and the University. In
93 I joined the Scottish Development Agency as senior director to help
improve the Scottish economy. In 2000, I moved to Norwich to do
the same job as CEO for Norfolk and Suffolk. My last position was
as COO for the Industrial Society/Work Foundation in London, doing a
turnaround job on one of the UK's oldest and most venerable training and
consultancy organisations. That successfully completed, we retired
to British Columbia and now have a nice beach house on the ocean, just
north of the really wealthy computer folk in Seattle! Use your Back button to return to the list |
