1974 - 2001 MAN05 - KID01 - MAN05
Joined ICL to work on Supervisor K2 (not VMEK - that was originally known as Supervisor T) only to find that the project was cancelled at the end of my first week with ICL. Ended up as a programmer working on VME C2 COBOL runtime library at KID01. Also, developed and looked after Compiler Environment and OPEH. First steps in team leading came with ITS - the COBOL Interactive Testing System. Ended up back at MAN05 and became Project Manager of VME INGRES, before moving to Openframework division. Came back to Mainframes Division as Programme Manager of the entry for the UK Quality award, which we won in 1995. Some more project management involved with technology refresh before moving to the IS Team and ending up as an IT Consultant.
Retired in October 2001.
